SYNTHÈSE
SYNTHÈSE highlights two commissions by EBM for saxophone quartet, electronics, and video. This project is the result of a collaboration between an international saxophone quartet specialized in contemporary music and two young composers with unique personalities: Daniel Cabanzo (Colombia) and Isandro Ojeda-García (Spain). These two composers studied in prestigious institutions in Paris (PSPBB, IRCAM) and Geneva (HEM), and are constantly looking to push the boundaries of genre, aesthetic, and form.

By presenting this tour from the 19th to the 25th of March 2018, the Ensemble du Bout du Monde, currently based in Switzerland, comes back to the city where it all started. This project takes the form of a synthesis, a going back and forth between the origins of the ensemble, and its future activities. It is also a way to feature the excellence of the French and Swiss schools of contemporary music composition.

The two world premieres will feature live electronics developed in Paris and Geneva. Synthèse, by its double meaning also refers to this important aspect. Through this interdisciplinary element, EBM goes beyond its role of simple interpreters to become real actors in this artistic project through interactions with different mediums and concert venues.
