Tongue Rams - Soprano Saxophone

Idiosyncrasies of Tongue Rams on the Soprano Saxophone

Tongue Rams are quite effective on soprano saxophone although the neck aperture is quite small. However, a harder ‘ram’ will be needed to create the characteristic sound in the upper register - starting from middle B♭ to palm G. In this range, the technique is naturally soft sounding due to the shorter length of tube that is being used.
